Greetings foolish mortals.  Like The Haunted Mansion, the BBP recently had a birthday.  It was a day of enjoying rope drop time at Animal Kingdom and getting on a couple of attractions not yet ridden.

First one was Navi River Journey.  The wait time said 20 minutes but it was closer to 12.  It was a much welcome relief from the heat and humidity in the early Florida weather.  Nice and cool and shaded.  The ride itself, not so interesting.  The special effects were very cool and it was calm and relaxing but there really wasn't much more to it.  There's the one amazing audio-animatronic towards the end and that's the highlight.  Rest of it...meh.

Had a Lightning Lane for Avatar Flight of Passage so after a brief 15 minute wait, got into the first room.  The pre-show is ok and then you move to the ride itself.  I heard it was similar to Soarin in the general jist of things and I guess it is.  However, the ride is not kind to you if you get motion sickness, which I normally don't but I think with the combination of the 3D gasses and all the moving, I started feeling a bit ugh.  The ride itself, though you just sit there, is cool but I was not blown away by it.  It's basically you watching a 3D movie with a lot of fast paced action.

Also went on Dinosaur, aka Countdown to Extinction, maybe for the last time before they close it down to redo it to an Indiana Jones ride, which sounds exciting but we shall see.

And also rode Expedition Everest a few times.  A very fun coaster.

Walked through the 2 trails they have and saw the gorillas out though not playing or anything as it was too hot.

Overall, the day was very hot and humid.  I managed to break the heat up by staying in the gift shops at the exit of every ride where the AC was very welcome.  Stayed in the shade too and utilized the ice water stations they had placed around the park.  Left after about 7 hours, tired, hot and worn out but feeling a bit better than I had for a few days.

The new journey around the sun has started so we shall see what lies ahead.

Until the next time...

BBP out!!!
