July 4th - 6th Disneyland and Paris

Greeting everybody. Was an incredible 4th of July weekend for me. I got to go somewhere I've been wanting to go for over 20 years. I finally made it to Disneyland Paris!!! I felt like a kid again as I saw the signs and advertisements for Disneyland and got very excited when I saw the Tower of Terror from a distance. It was an awesome trip. I'm going to write up kind of a separate post on here describing my likes and dislikes about the park and the resort in general.
I also got to go to Paris and got to see a few things but it was storming really bad so I wasn't able to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower but I did get to the top of The Arch of Triumph, which was pretty cool too. The city itself is very dirty and I have to say, I was not impressed by it. Within 5 minutes of getting there, I had a guy trying to scam me on the street with a "gold ring" scam. I didn't take it. Within an hour, I had a woman try the same thing and again, I did not take it.
Got some cool pics and saw a few interesting things but the rain kept me from doing a few things I wanted, mainly to visit Jim Morrison's grave. That would have been cool. I finally left after a while and drove through the back country where I saw quite a few cool little towns with some interesting points to them. One was built on the Rhine canal with a lock as a display. A few miles down the road I came across some kind of bridge memorial to possibly the Olympics but I'm not sure. I didn't even know what country I was in as there really wasn't any kind of line or sign stating the country.
It was a well spent weekend and I'm looking forward to some more adventures.
Until then, Bill out...
