July 19th - 21st - Berlin

July 21, 2014
What an incredible weekend!  It was simply, amazing.  Berlin is definitely one of the most fascinating and interesting places I have been.  There is so much history, so many stories, so many horrors and so many more other things.  To actually see and do all I wanted would have required a week and more Euro's but I did manage to make it to the Brandenburg Gate, The Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, a guard tower from the old wall, the Holocaust Memorial, The Berlin victory Column, The Soviet Soldier Memorial, the memorial for Sinti and Roma, the bombed out church and the Berlin TV Tower which gave me an aerial view of Berlin.  It was surreal yet also very humbling.  I'll be adding some pics to the site as well as a few on here.

July 13th - Europa park

July 13, 2014
Wow!  I have been busy on my weekends, that's for sure.  This weekend I went to Europa Park.  It's the second most popular theme park behind Disneyland Paris.  However, this theme park is owned by Mack.  They design and build rides and almost all the rides in this park are built by them.  It's also a roller coaster enthusiast's place to come and try a wide variety of coasters.

The first ride I went on is a hyper-coaster called Silver Star.  It was a very fast, smooth ride and a lot of fun.  It...

Disneyland Paris - Part 2

July 12, 2014
Alright.  We are back and ready to complete our journey and personal guide of Disneyland Paris in this, Part 2.  In Part 1, I covered The Disney Village, Main Street USA, Frontierland and Adventureland as well as Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

Let me also add an observation I made as well.  I do not remember seeing any motorized scooters.  If there were any, they were minimal as European people prefer to walk and get exercise rather than get fat and lazy and drive an electric cart everywhere, eve...

July 4th & 5th - Disneyland Paris - Part 1

July 7, 2014
OK everyone reading.  Here is the report of "My Trip to Disneyland Paris."

Let me start by saying that this has been a dream of mine for 20 plus years.  That dream was to visit Disneyland Paris.  Or as it was named before, Euro Disneyland.  I had seen a lot of pictures, read a lot of articles and seen videos but I wanted to experience it all for myself.

On the drive from Stuttgart, which took about 5 1/2 hours, I was excited and anxious the entire time.  I couldn't wait to get to the resort a...

July 4th - 6th Disneyland and Paris

July 7, 2014
Greeting everybody.  Was an incredible 4th of July weekend for me.  I got to go somewhere I've been wanting to go for over 20 years.  I finally made it to Disneyland Paris!!!  I felt like a kid again as I saw the signs and advertisements for Disneyland and got very excited when I saw the Tower of Terror from a distance.  It was an awesome trip.  I'm going to write up kind of a separate post on here describing my likes and dislikes about the park and the resort in general.

I also got to go to P...

July 1st - Welcome to July

July 1, 2014
Greetings and welcome to July.  Amazing how fast this year is going but I guess when you're busy and things are going on at a quick pace, time is bound to move fast too.  Now if I could only figure out how to slow it down.

So this weekend coming up is a 3 day weekend and I have made plans to get out of the country.  I was thinking about going to Berlin but decided there was more I wanted to see and do somewhere else.  The somewhere else is Euro-Disneyland!!!  Yes, I am finally getting to go ...

June 28th - Switzerland

June 29, 2014
What an incredible day to say the least.  Being so close to so many different places I want to go, I chose to visit Switzerland for the day.  Zurich to be more precise.  After a nice drive on the autobahn, where I reached speeds of 120 plus mph, and the scenic views and small towns were incredible, I reached the border of Germany and Switzerland.  The road I crossed was less heralded than I was expecting but it was still very cool to cross the country lines.

After visiting some smaller towns o...

June 21 - Summer starts and a castle touring it was

June 21, 2014
Greetings from Germany.  Been here now for just about 2 weeks.  It's been interesting when it comes to work,  or should I say, the flustercluck that is going on out here.  Haven't been doing nearly what I thought I would be or as much and it is a bit frustrating.  But hey, it's just temporary and then back home.

So today went to Burg Hohenzollern which is a castle sitting on top of a mountain about 45 minutes away from Stuttgart.  Gonna be putting some pictures up here as well to show the sigh...

June 9, 2010 - The BBP has landed

June 9, 2014
Well, we actually landed yesterday but due to technical issues, weren't able to post anything on here.  So posting today from Germany.

It's a beautiful country and I saw a little bit yesterday  but am looking forward to seeing more of it in the following weeks.  Lots of things to see, do and places to go.  Not to mention all the countries I am going to try to hit and see.  We have France with Euro Disneyland, Switzerland and Austria with the hopes of getting some skiing in.  Might try to hit I...

June 6th - June is hereand so is Change

June 6, 2014
Wow!!!  Been a busy time the past few days for me.  As some of my friends know, I am leaving for Germany for almost 2 months.  I am super excited about this opportunity and hope more comes out of it.  But if not, it will be an awesome experience none the less.  So much to do with so little time but I am chugging along and hopefully will have everything set to go tonight.  I've been to Germany twice for a total of about 4 hours for layovers when I was going to Afghanistan and coming back from ...
