July 4th - 6th Disneyland and Paris

July 7, 2014
Greeting everybody.  Was an incredible 4th of July weekend for me.  I got to go somewhere I've been wanting to go for over 20 years.  I finally made it to Disneyland Paris!!!  I felt like a kid again as I saw the signs and advertisements for Disneyland and got very excited when I saw the Tower of Terror from a distance.  It was an awesome trip.  I'm going to write up kind of a separate post on here describing my likes and dislikes about the park and the resort in general.

I also got to go to Paris and got to see a few things but it was storming really bad so I wasn't able to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower but I did get to the top of The Arch of Triumph, which was pretty cool too.  The city itself is very dirty and I have to say, I was not impressed by it.  Within 5 minutes of getting there, I had a guy trying to scam me on the street with a "gold ring" scam.  I didn't take it.  Within an hour, I had a woman try the same thing and again, I did not take it.

Got some cool pics and saw a few interesting things but the rain kept me from doing a few things I wanted, mainly to visit Jim Morrison's grave.  That would have been cool.  I finally left after a while and drove through the back country where I saw quite a few cool little towns with some interesting points to them.  One was built on the Rhine canal with a lock as a display.  A few miles down the road I came across some kind of bridge memorial to possibly the Olympics but I'm not sure.  I didn't even know what country I was in as there really wasn't any kind of line or sign stating the country.

It was a well spent weekend and I'm looking forward to some more adventures.

Until then, Bill out...

July 1st - Welcome to July

July 1, 2014
Greetings and welcome to July.  Amazing how fast this year is going but I guess when you're busy and things are going on at a quick pace, time is bound to move fast too.  Now if I could only figure out how to slow it down.

So this weekend coming up is a 3 day weekend and I have made plans to get out of the country.  I was thinking about going to Berlin but decided there was more I wanted to see and do somewhere else.  The somewhere else is Euro-Disneyland!!!  Yes, I am finally getting to go ...

June 28th - Switzerland

June 29, 2014
What an incredible day to say the least.  Being so close to so many different places I want to go, I chose to visit Switzerland for the day.  Zurich to be more precise.  After a nice drive on the autobahn, where I reached speeds of 120 plus mph, and the scenic views and small towns were incredible, I reached the border of Germany and Switzerland.  The road I crossed was less heralded than I was expecting but it was still very cool to cross the country lines.

After visiting some smaller towns o...

June 21 - Summer starts and a castle touring it was

June 21, 2014
Greetings from Germany.  Been here now for just about 2 weeks.  It's been interesting when it comes to work,  or should I say, the flustercluck that is going on out here.  Haven't been doing nearly what I thought I would be or as much and it is a bit frustrating.  But hey, it's just temporary and then back home.

So today went to Burg Hohenzollern which is a castle sitting on top of a mountain about 45 minutes away from Stuttgart.  Gonna be putting some pictures up here as well to show the sigh...

June 9, 2010 - The BBP has landed

June 9, 2014
Well, we actually landed yesterday but due to technical issues, weren't able to post anything on here.  So posting today from Germany.

It's a beautiful country and I saw a little bit yesterday  but am looking forward to seeing more of it in the following weeks.  Lots of things to see, do and places to go.  Not to mention all the countries I am going to try to hit and see.  We have France with Euro Disneyland, Switzerland and Austria with the hopes of getting some skiing in.  Might try to hit I...

June 6th - June is hereand so is Change

June 6, 2014
Wow!!!  Been a busy time the past few days for me.  As some of my friends know, I am leaving for Germany for almost 2 months.  I am super excited about this opportunity and hope more comes out of it.  But if not, it will be an awesome experience none the less.  So much to do with so little time but I am chugging along and hopefully will have everything set to go tonight.  I've been to Germany twice for a total of about 4 hours for layovers when I was going to Afghanistan and coming back from ...

May 23rd - 24 hours (not for me)

May 23, 2014
Today was supposed to be a great, fun filled day while spending 24 hours at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Grrrrr
However, it was worth it because I got to spend the weekend with my son on his 15th birthday.  Can't beat that.
So to all my friends who will be doing the 24 hours, have a great time.

May 18th - The Day After

May 18, 2014
Well, yesterday was my guy's 15th birthday.  He had a great birthday and was just a low key celebration, though it lasted roughly 2 days.  He was up all night with his birthday present.  Made me feel so good that he's so happy.

I love you Z!!!

May 12th - Almost but not quite

May 13, 2014
Happy May 12th.  No, it's not a holiday or anything special really.  I did manage to do something today that while it could have changed things, I decided not to go ahead with it at this time.  I was offered a job to head back overseas but I felt the position wasn't a good fit for me and neither was the location.  While it would have been decent financially, it wasn't great money.  It's not all about money but if I'm going to do something like that again, it had damn better well be worth it a...

Happy Cinco de Mayo

May 5, 2014
Hola!!!  Happy Cinco de Mayo.  Who here knows what Cinco de Mayo stands for?  No really.  Raise your hand.
OK, so it's not Mexico's Independence day.  That's all I'm saying.

I know, I know.  Been a few weeks since I've updated the site.  I kept meaning to come here and do more and I'm actually looking into modifying this site and making it something else.  Not yet though.  It is still a "Project".

Anyways, in a couple of weeks, my guy will be 15 and able to get his restricted license.  Wow! ...
